Carnival Elation Room U111
This is the Carnival Elation stateroom U111 which is a Grand Suite on the Upper deck. Room U111 is located in the middle of the ship on the starboard side. We stayed in here in January 2018 on our 4-day Bahamas cruise. You can read about that trip here.

Upon first walking into the cabin, to the immediate left is a walk in closet. Facing the closet, there is a full length mirror on the wall. To the left, there is a tall set of four shelves with two drawers at the bottom.
One shelf features a safe to store valuables. The safe is protected by a four digit password followed by a pound sign. A little farther back on the left is a hanging rod with removable (yes, removable… it’s the little things!) hangers.
Still in the closet and to the right is an area with two hanging rods, one at the top and the other in the middle of the closet.
Life vests are located above the top hanging rod. There are also two bath robes available.
Across from the closet is the bathroom. The sink vanity has a large counter with a lot of space to hold bathroom items.
There are several storage shelves in the corner to the left of the sink.
A box of tissue is provided along with two bars of soap and some complimentary travel size items including shampoo, conditioner and shower gel.
There is a toilet right across from the sink. The toilet paper holder is behind the door. Bath towels, hand towels and washcloths are included for all guests in the cabin. They’re located above the toilet.
One of the perks of the grand suite category is having a REAL bath tub! This is very rare! There is a little head rest at the back of the tub to aid in relaxation.
The tub also has a removable shower head as well as dispensers for shampoo and body wash. The shower features sliding glass doors.
Adjustable temperature controls are available by turning the right side of the faucet. The bath tub stopper is located on the small circle shelf to the left.
Leaving the bathroom and walking into the main portion of the room, there is a sitting area with two arm chairs, a couch and a coffee table. The couch can be converted to a bed if needed.
Two pullman style beds are available behind this area as well. These are basically beds that are attached to the wall and pull down if additional guests are staying in the room. These are typically locked and fixed to the wall when not in use.
Here’s what the room looks like with one of the pullman beds down.
The bed is located beyond the sitting area, closer to the balcony.
It can be set up as two separate twin beds or one king. Above the bed is a switch to turn off the overhead lights in the room.
The bed has a nightstand on both sides. The lamps feature two USB charging ports.
The room has ample counter space and additional drawers for storage. There’s a lighted vanity mirror with a small stool and hair dryer in the top left drawer. Four shelves are located around the mirror.
There’s a television with remote control. There’s also a refrigerator located in the cabinet underneath the tv.
The balcony has two sitting chairs and a side table. One of the chairs reclines if desired. The lower portion of the balcony railing is made of steel.
The door has a lock on it from the inside but it’s not possible to lock yourself out on the balcony accidentally. The balcony also has a light above the window that can be turned on and off from inside the cabin.
